Presidential Commission

This is another commissioned piece that I am working on (still in the sketch phase at the moment). This is the sketch/drawing for the painting - which will be watercolor on Ivorine. When it is finished, the piece will be a part of a museum's collection of miniature portraits of the American Presidents. I was asked to paint George W. Bush, and my Mom, Karen, has been commissioned to paint President Bill Clinton.

I haven’t painted many human portraits recently, so this is a nice break from my usual work.

I don't know what I would do if I were you since it is obviously a great honor to be commissioned to paint a president. And based on the sketch you posted of George W. Bush, this will no doubt be a superb portrait like all of your work. But he was possibly our worst president who caused so much harm to our country, including the conservation of the subjects you usually paint. He is scared of horses, in spite of his reputation as a cowboy, and as a boy he used to sadistically blow up small creatures. In short, his very image turns my stomach.
I don't expect a reply from you on this. I just wanted you to be aware of this. I am very pleased to know that your talents also include portraitures. Is there nothing you can't paint?!
