I enjoyed watching this wolf on an overcast day as he played and explored.  After a great deal of activity, he slowed down and curled up on a stone ledge to rest – a perfect pose for a painting.  The overcast environment gave a rich calm feeling to the painting.

I love painting raccoons.  Often, as this year, there are raccoon families roaming near the studio bringing their cubs up close in the evenings and at night.  ..often getting themselves into trouble.  This is a small painting of a young animal that, for the time being, was content in his hiding spot.

Both of these paintings are now available through Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

  1. Hi Rebecca,
I love to paint the gray wolf too, I have a unique frame I made myself, stretched then caoted and is ready to paint. I visited with Darcy Berus and this summer has been so busy, but I have some 100 year old chestnut wood, my son is a master carpenter who is building a frame to fit the 36″ x 60″ canvas. Today I just finished my WI Waterfowl Duck Stamp, ship next Thursday, and tomorrow at the Gandy Dancer Days Celebration in Webster,WI. I’ll be painting live a historical painting of the first Burnett County Library, that was located in Siren,WI. Rain or shine, I have my show tent set up at the Moonglow Restaurant on W. Main St in Webster. Come and visit if you get a day off. You’d love Crex Meadows with the trumpter swans and sandhill cranes. I am going to start this new gray wolf painting for Darcey and the International Wolf Center, probably will work a month on should have done before the Symposium being held in Duluth.

Great painting, and thanks for sharing. Best wishes.

    Hi Rebecca!
I just adore these two wonderful, expressive paintings. I had to feature them on my arts and crafts blog round-up this week. Enjoy!
    Ciao Bella!
