I am pleased to post that the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife & Heritage Service chose my painting, Guardian – Black Bear, for the 2014-2015 Maryland Black Bear Conservation Stamp.  The design contest was held at the 44th Annual Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD.

Proceeds from the sale of the Black Bear Stamps go toward the Black Bear Conservation Fund and are used to compensate farmers in Maryland experiencing agricultural damage caused by black bears.  For more information on the contest or the Black Bear Conservation Stamp Fund, please visit http://www.dnr.maryland.gov/wildlife/bbcp/

Autumn – Black Bear, an earlier piece, was chosen as their 2010-2011 Maryland Black Bear Conservation Stamp and can be purchased from the MDNR here
