Maryland Black Bear Conservation Stamp

On Saturday, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources made selections for their conservation stamp programs.  This painting was selected as the Maryland Black Bear Conservation Stamp 2010-2011.  The judging for the contest was held at the National Wildlife Visitors Center in Laurel, Maryland during the Patuxent Wildlife Art Show.  I am very honored to have my art selected.

The bear isn't my favorite but I love the details in the bear's fur. I love all your art but I favor the wolves and the foxs. Keep it up, can't wait to see more of your art. ^_^

This is beautiful. The fur is perfect, we have a black bear that comes through once in a while, last week he made an appearance. When the bear moves the fur is reflective just as I can see in your watercolor. Congrats for the your win. The bear will be well traveled by the time it comes back home….RaeDi
