Finishing touches on a Raccoon

I thought I should post an update on a raccoon piece I have in progress (sepia stage of this is shown here).  It is almost done at this point.. just a few accents and fussing to polish it up a bit before it’s shipped off to the gallery.  I am pleased with how well the fur came together on this one.  Sometimes it’s a struggle when it doesn’t seem to want to cooperate.

I have a hand finished frame that was made especially for this painting – eager to see it all together in it’s final display.  Will post photos of that shortly.  It will finish as an 8×10 and, like my other work, is watercolor on board.  I haven’t chosen a title for the piece yet.

Cutie Patootie is what I would call it, but I am sure you will think up a more sophisticated title….Beautiful painting Rebecca! And when I was in Fl last month, I was thrilled to admire your swan painting in the MAA's permanent collection in Dunedin!

Many many thanks, Rebecca. I was waiting for the finishing touches and finally you gave us the opportunity to see this. Your fingers are really so magical!

Simply lovely! The raccoon seems oblivious to you stroking him/her with camel hair.
