Miniature Watercolor Painting – Wolf

This is a new miniature painting I'm working on right now - an adult wolf. The photo you see is the sketch for the watercolor ...As you can probably tell, this painting is a ..miniature piece. :)

This is a new miniature painting I’m working on right now – an adult wolf. The photo you see is the sketch for the watercolor (a U.S. quarter for scale). As you can probably tell, this painting is a 1/6th scale traditional miniature piece. :)

I have had the urge to paint some of these little paintings lately for fun. I can usually finish one of these in a day or two (if I concentrate on them exclusively). :) The painting is coming along well and should be completed soon. Rebecca Latham | Wildlife Artist

  1. hello i have just recently started to paint miniature watercolors altho i have not done anything under 4 x 6 and would like to know if there are art stores online that specialize in miniature art supplies, like your website and images, i also enjoy digital photography which i use a means for future paintings, entering a miniature show in colo sprgs this April.

Hey i might publish a book can i use on of your sketches if i verify your name?

McKinley – Thanks! :D I don’t have any instructionals other than the pages on my blog (look on the pages section on the upper-left of the bar). You might find some nice pictures to draw over on WetCanvas.com – they have a reference library for artists to use if they like (you have to register first…which is free… )

Rebecca – I’m really glad that you like my work so much! :D Using my sketches in a book would depend on what the book is about…I’d need more details about your project…

  1. […] This is one of the paintings I finished up for the NatureWorks Show and Sale in Tulsa, Oklahoma this past weekend – a little wolf.  The photo here is a little harsher than the real painting – but you get the idea.  The sketch for this miniature is posted here. […]
