Poinsettia Sketch by Bonnie Latham - Sketch of a Poinsettia plant in Bonnie Latham's Studo

This poinsettia is next to me every day as I paint.  What a wonderful subject to sketch with the dimension and flow of the leaves!   emoticon

A Little Paint – Miniature Paintings for Exhibition 1 of 5

For this exhibition we painted the paintings 1/6th scale so I was excited to plan this painting of a ruby throated hummingbird approaching some foxglove  –  this painting is  3/4  x  1  –  it is the smallest painting I have ever painted! emoticon

New Miniature Painting for Gallery

This is one of the new miniature paintings I am working on for the Miller Gallery's This is one of the new miniature paintings I am working on for the Miller Gallery’s  "Objects of Desire XIV – Holiday Miniature Exhibition".   It’s been fun working on minis since working on a larger painting takes a longer amount of time.   It always feels great when you finish a painting – with a mini in no time at all you are done!!! emoticon   I am looking forward to working on more of them.

Jackson, Wyoming

Bonnie Latham on a photoshoot in Yellowstone National Park in WyomingOur recent trip to Jackson, Wyoming was so inspiring!!!  🙂

One of my favorite photo shoots was along a creek in the morning light. We also did some photography near a misty waterfall as well as several fields of colorful blooming flowers — I particularly liked the beautiful back lighting.  🙂
