Here is one of my new miniature paintings for the Miller Gallery’s "Objects of Desire XIV – Holiday Miniature Exhibition". Visit our "What’s New" page for more information about the event.
For this exhibition we painted the paintings 1/6th scale so I was excited to plan this painting of a ruby throated hummingbird approaching some foxglove – this painting is 3/4 x 1 – it is the smallest painting I have ever painted!

It was nice to be invited to be a part of this exhibition. I don’t have the time as I would like to paint miniatures, but I hope to change that in the future.
— Special thanks to Miller gallery for hosting a beautiful show!

This is one of the new miniature paintings I am working on for the Miller Gallery’s "Objects of Desire XIV – Holiday Miniature Exhibition". It’s been fun working on minis since working on a larger painting takes a longer amount of time. It always feels great when you finish a painting – with a mini in no time at all you are done!!!
I am looking forward to working on more of them.
I just finished my latest painting "Gaze of the Hunter – Timber Wolf" — you can see it posted in my studio. I am looking forward to be starting some new paintings like this piece of a trumpeter swan. I’ve been working on the piece (pictured right) for a little less than a day. 🙂 It will be about 6 x 8 when it’s finished.
Our recent trip to Jackson, Wyoming was so inspiring!!! 🙂
One of my favorite photo shoots was along a creek in the morning light. We also did some photography near a misty waterfall as well as several fields of colorful blooming flowers — I particularly liked the beautiful back lighting. 🙂
