Wolf Painting

New watercolor painting by Rebecca Latham featuring a lone timberwolfI am finishing up on this timberwolf painting right now.  It is coming along so quickly! :)

I like the way the fur of the wolf has a feeling of thickness and layers of varied colors and thickness — I tried to capture that in this painting.

i love wolfs, i think theyre amazing creatures and beautifull to see.
having come across a rather large wolf in the flesh, whilst on exercise in suffield canada, i have to say your painting is as close to the real thing as you could get.
    brilliant painting. love the work.

Thank you, Michael. I appreciate that.

They are beautiful. They can have such an expression on their faces that is just amazing to paint or draw. Pretty dangerous to run across in the wild. One of my family members came across a pack in Yellowstone on a hike. A little scary.

I have been to some wildlife shoots (where, of course, they are trained for movies and such – not ‘wild’) where they will come right up to you. …and in my case, walked over..trampled…and covered in wolf kisses (…er, wolf drool). :D (It was a very friendly wolf.)

Anonymous, Thank you as well :D Glad you stopped by.

Absolutely beautiful! How long did this painting take you from start to finish? Interesting to compare that to how long one of my projects takes.
