This is a commissioned work that I just completed and the steps to create the painting.
I started out with a fairly detailed pencil sketch of the puppy in graphite. Doing a more detailed drawing first helps me establish my values before I begin the painting process.
The drawing transferred to the painting surface. Gold and orange washes are glazed in as the warm underpainting.
Darks are roughly painted into the fur and in the face.

This is MY Puppy, Chloe, and let me just tell you, Rebecca got her expression spot-on! This IS Chloe, No Question. It is just wonderful to have had Rebecca paint my Best little girl and in the fabulous detail that is in the finished piece. I don’t know how she does it but I’m here to tell you it is simply beautiful. (I cried when I saw it, it’s that wonderful). I can’t thank you enough..

wow i just want to say ur art work is amazing i dod art work to but man ur are great i know a lady from Texas and she’s artist to and we gog camping every summer at the same camp ground and well i just go to her rv and she shows me all these interesting ways for drawing and yea it’s fun well keep drawing
