This is a slideshow of some of the snapshots from the Miniature Painters Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, DC opening events that my family and I attended.  Enjoy! :D

    Beautiful job!

  2. Rebecca, Beautiful pictures and lovely event. What a neat way to frame the miniatures, within the larger “frames”. Very cool!

May I link my art blog to yours? http://pattycunningham.com/artblog/

    TIA!

Thank you, Pete. Glad you like it.

Thank you, Patty. Yes – Many of the society exhibitions of miniature paintings have “cases” to display the miniature paintings on the walls as well as the glass cases that are free-standing. The wall cases, during the rest of the exhibition, have plexiglass inserts that slide over the front to protect the small paintings during the show. (They are plexiglass free during the opening for better viewing.) The RMS in London shows work in much the same way during their exhibit.

Yes – You certainly may link to my blog. I’ll try to get your link added to my blogroll as well. I have an opening this weekend…so I will have to get to it after that….

    Best,

    Rebecca

I loooooovvvvveeeeeeeeee your pictures!!!!! I love your sketches the most! I like to draw too, but I am not able to draw wildlife or any animals. I can only make up my own japanese type of drawings….But anyway…..I like to observe your pictures to give me some inspiration. Even though I am not as gifted in drawing wildlife, I like to try and some of them have turned out pretty good.

Also, I was wondering if you could tell me any other sites or places where I could find more of your sketches?

P.S; I understand that you are busy, but if you are not able to, that’s alright. Thank you for inspiring me.

    Hi Allie,

    Thank you. :)

I’m glad you like to draw. I used to draw my own little cartoons, too – mine were similar to some of the Disney animation characters (I think I was 11 or so…hmmmm….too many years ago…). I’m sure if you keep practicing you will do very well. Being an artist does have something to do with your natural abilities, but it also has a lot to do with your dedication and determination to sharpen your skills. Practice, practice. :) You’ll do just fine.

About the sketches – I really don’t have sketches posted anywhere other than here (…though I suppose there may be a stray one here or there out on the net….). My blog is where I post my new work for people to see.

    Best wishes,

    Rebecca
