Twin Fawns in Grass 11×14 (Sepia, Work in Progress)

Twin Fawn Pair in the Grass, sepia watercolor on board, work in progress, ©Rebecca Latham

A little bit larger than I often work… this piece is about 11in x 14in (sepia watercolor on board at this point, work in progress).

This is a rather involved painting with all of the detail in the animals themselves as well as an ocean of grass surrounding them.  ..so it has been one of those paintings that gets a lot of pondering before proceeding.  I liked the feeling of movement that this pair of fawns have already in the painting.  I hope to continue the flow in the color phase..

Rebecca, I love your artwork it’s beautiful!! Your sepia layout of the Deer looks great!! Your technique of painting
is very impressive. Please tell me do you start with a sketch, next you strengthen the drawing with sepia
watercolor, then you airbrush the color, and lastly you apply the gouache opaque watercolor. Do you glaze over
the gouache watercolor? I hope you can provide me the information as to your technique I would like to experiment
with your technique. Thank you, Clarence.
