‘Wacipi Legacy’ Miniature Portrait

Wacipi Legacy - watercolor on ivorine by Rebecca Latham

This painting was awarded the Robert & Leslie Starke Award for the Best Work By A Young Artist at the International Miniature Art Exhibition in Dunedin, Florida earlier this year.  The image is watercolor on ivorine and smaller than 25 sq inches.  The painting is of a young Native American woman in full costume for an inter-tribal powwow I had the honor to attend.

Golden Iris After Spring Rains – New Miniature Painting

This is a new painting (currently on my easel) that is nearly completed.  A white and yellow iris from my garden (watercolor on board, ‘in miniature’, as always :) ).  I had the chance to visit the Minnesota Arboretum to see their extensive collection in full display earlier this year.  …truly spectacular!  Every variety and color imaginable…and glowing in the evening sun. :D   ( …so of course I have more paintings planned. ;)  )

This piece is currently available.  Please drop a note if you are interested in adding the original or a reproduction to your collection…
