I painted on my new cougar piece for most of the day today. I will be painting at Galleries West Fine Art -www.gallerieswestjacksonhole.com- tomorrow during the afternoon. I think it’s coming along pretty well!

I started this painting this evening in my motel studio — it will be a young adult cougar stalking. The picture above is the sketch phase of the painting. The piece will be 20×30 when it’s finished.
I am planning to work on the painting in the gallery during the Fall Arts Festival (Galleries West in Jackson Hole, Wyoming), but I will have to get a little farther into the color phase first.

We were lucky to have such a nice day today to shoot reference photos and drive through parks. :) I’ve included a few pictures in this post of some of the views.
Some of the wildlife came out for us as well — elk (& calves), coyote, moose, beaver, etc. :)

On the road. I decided not to paint in the car for this trip :). I will be starting a new piece for my Jackson gallery soon -www.gallerieswestjacksonhole.com- and will be posting the progress as I work.
I am packing for our trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming today as well as doing some painting. I will be blogging from out west for a while. :)
I am painting a little bit today. I am also planning out a few new requested pieces — I’ll post their progress when I get the sketches together. :)
I finished one of my miniature paintings today (this morning). It was one of those pieces that I had set aside in the studio for a while so I could get a fresh look at it later (to see if there was anything else it needed). :)
The miniature will be added to the collection of work I have currently on exhibit at Galleries West Fine Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming -gallerieswestjacksonhole.com- . I haven’t completed a miniature cougar painting for a while (or any cougars for that matter :? ), so this piece should add some variety to the group. :) The piece is 5"x7".
There was a beautiful sunset tonight. I made a little rough sketch of it in ink. :) (I would have taken a photo of it, but I didn’t have my camera with me. :( )
I am looking forward to our next outing to Jackson Hole and our gallery out there. :)
My coyote painting "Morning Shadows" is now finished . I’ll get a photo of the framed piece up here on the blog soon. I will be working to finish up on a smaller, miniature piece for my gallery in Jackson -www.gallerieswestjacksonhole.com- in the next few days as well. :)
